Scott Joplin was born November 24, 1868 in Northeast Texas. He died April 1, 1917. In his career he wrote 44 original ragtime pieces. When he was little he got his musical knowledge from a local teacher.
Hattie Caraway
Hattie was born February 1, 1868 in Bakersville, TN. She died on December 22, 1950 and lived to be 82. Hattie was the first woman elected to the U.S. senate. The next time they elected she became the first woman to be reelected.
Jonny Cash
Johnny Cash was born on February 26, 1932 in Kingsland and died on September 12, 2003 in Nashville, TN. Johnny lived to be 71 with years old with a lot accomplished. When he was a teenager he played for a radio station in Blytheville called KLCN. He recorded "Ring Of Fire" written by Merle Kilgore and June Carter in 1963.

General Douglas MacArthur
General Douglas was born on January 26, 1868 in Little Rock and died on April 5, 1964 in Washington D.C. When he was a child he lived at different army posts. He retired in 1937 but was called back in 1941.
