The Ozark Mountains

The Highlands were formed over millions of years ago. They were formed when huge landmasses collided and pushed up rock. The Highlands are full of mountains and it is heavily forested. In the Highlands winters are mild and summers are warm.

The Ozark Mountains don't have pointed tops, but they have flat tops. Rivers have made valleys in the plateaus. The precipitation can reach up to 52 inches in some areas. A lot of the forests are filled with pine and hardwood trees.

The Ouachita Mountains

The Lowlands

The Ouachita Mountains have sharp peaks and ridges. There are hot springs hoping up in several places. There are more than 48 inches of annual precipitation.

The Lowlands are low with mostly level land. They have some hills and forests. The winters are very mild and the summers are warm.
